Good morning, everyone! We are jumping into our second week of remote learning - and we are so ready and excited to be back in the building next Monday, February 1! Hard to believe we are pushing February already. We know it’s difficult to work from home full-time. In our MMM and below (and in a separate e-mail we sent out), we have highlighted some tips and resources to help you stay focused and productive. The advisors will reinforce these topics in your Advisory chats this week to help develop those executive functioning skills that will help you whether you’re working at home or in the building.
Friday is check, and this contract does count towards Reboot - so make it a good one! We are here to support you each step of the way. Stay connected, set clear goals for yourself, and work one step at a time. General announcements

Hello CCHS community! This morning meeting covers a lot of logistics for our temporary remote learning set-up. The details are outlined below, but we recommend you watch the video to get a fuller sense of what to expect. Below, you’ll also see links to the Google Sites for each class and the Google Classroom codes, if there’s a classroom you haven’t yet joined. It’ll be important to be a member of those Google Classrooms so you get important announcements and the Google Meet links.
If you have questions, you can reach out to a staff member during the day. We may all be apart, but we’re still all in this together! General announcements

The big news from CCHS this week is that Amanda is going to be leaving during Thanksgiving break. We are sorry to see her go - and we’ll keep working to provide a consistent experience for students. We have already been talking with community members who are interested in taking over the role for the remainder of the year and are confident that we’ll have a good solution in place so we can keep going after Thanksgiving.
We cannot control all the transitions that happen in our lives, but we can control how we respond to them. And right now, our focus is on loving our students, supporting our community, and moving forward together. Students, parents, guardians, or community members: if you have any questions or need to talk about this transition, please contact Christine. My door is open! Watch MMM here General announcements

Community Service Jeanette is out today, but if she’s back the rest of the week, we’ll have CS as planned.

This is going to be an odd week because of testing. Students, remember that we use NWEA regularly because doing C-TACH assessments doesn’t currently work with our module approach. These tests ensure we are on the right track with module offerings and expectations. Testing is not an easy task… it can cause anxiety and is a disruption to normalcy. Please approach the week with patience and flexibility. We are here to help if problems arise and just ask for your positive participation. We are balancing the tests with more breaks in between, like longer lunches and, if you are taking the PSAT or SAT, the ability to leave Wednesday when finished. General announcements

Congratulations to our new students for completing Discovery! Now that we are finished with Disco and the skills modules, we will be back into our regular rotation of module offerings. If you would like to work out of the building for any part of the week, please check in with your teacher and your advisor before listing it on your contract.
We are in the midst of debate season! You can watch debates for Social Studies points if you sign in through Steve’s Social Studies classroom - make sure you take notes while you are watching so we can give you points. Your offerings this week include the Vice Presidential debate on Wednesday and a Senate debate between Cory Gardner and John Hickenlooper on Friday. More presidential debates are scheduled for upcoming weeks. As you probably saw over the weekend, COVID reached the White House. It’s another reminder that we want to be vigilant with our own safety protocols: masks, distancing, and washing hands. Please be respectful of these expectations so we can stay in school! Happy Monday! Thank you to all the students who came to the drive-in on Saturday to watch Beautiful Boy. We saw ten of our students there! Addiction and recover are tough subjects, but it so important to talk about them. We appreciate Chaffee County Public Health for making this movie (and concessions and Narcan) available to everyone.
We are heading into the final week of Discovery and Skills! Next week, everyone will be in regular modules, which will allow for more variety in offerings moving forwards. We have a full week, but there will still be some anomalies this week as Steve is out Monday – Wednesday (Jane is substituting) and Natalie is out Thursday and Friday. Christine will support students as needed in their absence – advisory issues for Steve and College & Careers issues for Natalie. The colors are changing fast… take some time to enjoy the golden leaves while they are here! General announcements

Welcome back to another four day week! Check is this Friday. Students, focus on getting your work done. Set clear goals and check in with your teachers to ensure you are on track. If you missed the Silver Cliff field trip, you’ll need to make a plan to earn extra points so you aren’t struggling to meet minimum points.
And speaking of Silver Cliff, thank you to everyone who participated! It’s always great to get out of the building and take time to play. If you are reading this e-mail from home, please remember to fill out your contract and check in with your advisor. Even at home, you can continue working! General announcements

We are excited for our Silvercliff field trip Wednesday! These trips are a great opportunity to apply our core values: work, play, commit, connect, evolve. Wear good shoes, be prepared to be outside (sunscreen and water), and bring a suit if you want to swim! If you don’t want to swim, we have plenty of other activity options for the afternoon. Morning will be clubs and advisory team building activities.
Please bring a mask! We are giving out too many disposable masks. If you haven’t gotten a CCHS buff yet, ask Jeannette for one. And then just remember to bring it each day. :) General announcements

Welcome back, everyone! We are so excited to be together again. As with every year, it will take a little time to get settled back into our routines. Be patient with the staff, and we’ll be patient with you. :)
All students should have a device now. If you have issues, please talk with your teacher or with Christine, and we’ll troubleshoot for you as best we can. General announcements
