Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! We will be taking time to honor the legacy of this famed civil rights leader during advisory this afternoon. This day is a powerful reminder of the need to continue fighting for the issues that matter most to us, whatever challenges stand in our way. It can feel daunting to get your voice heard, but the more you speak up, the more likely you are to have voices join yours.

After Rosa Parks’ arrest, Dr. King spoke to the sacrifices that can come in fighting for justice. He said, “And I won't rest; I will face intimidation, and everything else, along with these other stalwart fighters for democracy and for citizenship. We don't mind it, so long as justice comes out of it. And I've come to see now that as we struggle for our rights, maybe some of them will have to die. But somebody said, if a man doesn't have something that he'll die for, he isn't fit to live.”

So even if whatever you are fighting seems like an uphill battle, keep at it! Your voice matters.

    • District guidance on mask wearing is now that we need to wear masks if we are within 3 feet of each other for 15 minutes. So if you can’t distance from others in the Commons and classrooms, you need to wear a mask. We don’t like masks, but we don’t like remote learning more! Please do your part
    • You may have heard through the letter Ms. Yates sent out that the CCHS property is under contract to be sold. This may come as disconcerting news, as we don’t have solidified plans for where we will be next year. We won’t make any changes before the end of the school year, though - we have the building through June.
      • We will be discussing options over the coming months and will discuss options with you all as we move forward. If you have questions about this process, come talk to Christine
