General announcements​
  • Finish modules! Some students seem to be in a rut of starting modules but not finishing… this might help you pass contract, but it isn’t helping you graduate. 
  • Testing this April: do your best on them; they help us keep our doors open. Just two days of testing this year!
  • NWEA tests this round was awesome because you all didn’t blow them off
    • Talk to Mike about earning points from reaching test cut scores (showing 11th grade proficiency)
  • Opportunity for summer work: Career Builder Academy
    • trying to build a work force for the county in the county
    • Division of Vocational Rehabilitation: opportunity for up to 5 CCHS students to work on building affordable housing in Salida
      • 20 hour work week, 6 weeks long
      • if you complete, you get math and English credit, and $1500
    • there might also be a food service opportunity this summer, too (stay tuned)
    • next year, there might be an opportunity to continue projects like this in conjunction with school: classes in the morning, work in the afternoon (such as culinary arts, construction… re-build the Pearl?)
  • Cafeteria at Avery Parsons: willing to bring breakfast over to CCHS if there’s enough interest!
    • Everyone on free and reduced lunch is eligible; if not eligible, breakfast is $2.30
  • Smart Recovery is Wednesday
  • Kitchen is closed… clean up your stuff!
    • It will re-open once a student comes to Mike with a plan to keep it clean

    • If the English room door is closed and there’s a sign on the door, please don’t come in! that means we’re doing an activity as a group, and interruptions are unhelpful. When the sign is gone and/or door is open, you are welcome to come in. This applies to students coming late for a module and students not in the module.

    What are MMMM?

    At the start of each week, the whole school gets together for a Monday Morning Meeting. Here, staff give general announcements, and teachers present their modules for the week. After the meeting, students create contracts, signing up for the modules they will take and other activities they will participate in.
