General announcements
  • Welcome back! We’re so excited for the new school year. Housekeeping items:
    • If you want a locker, talk to Karen. Even if you had a locker last year, confirm that Karen has it listed. You are welcome to bring a lock for your locker, but remember if it’s a combo lock, let Karen know the combination; if it’s a key lock, Karen needs a copy of the key.
    • We’ll be getting new laptops next week! Until then, be patient and sign laptops out in your classroom.
  • Contracts! We now have four contracts - one for each section of the road. Contracts are color coded and list the privileges that correspond to each color on the road. Not sure what color you are in? Check with your advisor
    • Starting next semester, you must have completed the ICAP credits that correspond to each color before moving up on the road. Old Dogs, you have this semester to catch up - prioritize those ICAP credits if you should be in a higher color based on core credits already earned!
      • White level privileges: earn Friday afternoons off IF work is complete and signed off
      • Red level privileges: earn Fridays off IF work is complete and signed off; earn ability to request to work out of the building one day each week
      • Yellow level privileges: earn Fridays off IF work is complete and signed off; earn ability to request to work out of the building 49% of each week; earn ability to register for CMC classes
      • Green level privileges: communicate with advisor to form a plan and come and go as you please (as long as you aren’t in a structured module)
  • Clubs are set up differently this year! Accountability and momentum was difficult last year with scheduling issues and lack of consistency. This year, you’ll sign up for a club each quarter (every 7 or 8 weeks). Each quarter, there will be four club options and study hall.
    • You’ll earn points for each club - either for Elective, PE, or Health… sometimes clubs will even count towards core credits! If you don’t need any subjects currently offered, you can sign up for study hall and earn contract points for being productive.
