Monday morning meeting – 2/14/22
 
Good morning! Valentine’s Day, Palentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, or Monday, whichever you prefer. :) Lots of general notes and reminders this morning… please read the notes carefully!
 
General announcements

• Moments of gratitude
  • A staff member at Avery Parsons mentioned to Christine that she appreciates how kind and respectful the CCHS students are who pick up lunch at AvP. Thank you all for making a good impression!
  • Karen is grateful to Amy for taking over Mindfulness at MMM
  • Kelvin is grateful for his friends, “for they are the friendliest of friends”
  • Jeremiah is grateful for having great friends he can rely on and talk with
  • Christine is grateful for all the students at school today and for having heat in the building (appreciate even the little things!)
• Thank you notes for Zac Baird and Cam Torrens - please sign (Christine will bring them around, or you can stop by her office)
• Logins - please be specific in your response about what you are working on. Apart from Monday morning (before you have signed up for modules), you should know what your goal is for each block is… reading an article, participating in a discussion, watching a documentary on sloths, working on your taxes, etc.
• Fountain Valley reschedule - March 31/April 1
  • We have lots of fun trips coming up, both before and after Spring Break. Stay tuned!
• Breakfast routine - sign up for next day’s breakfast by 10:00 (the kitchen support person who cooks breakfast only works in the morning)
  • We will have some extras available if you are absent 
• Quiet room (Natalie’s office) - you are welcome to use it as a quiet space, but keep the door open unless you have specific permission from a teacher
• Ski trip March 2
  • Danny will confirm your needs and preferences in the coming week

  • Build a model for the future CCHS space
  • Give meaningful input on design
  • Possibly meet with one of the architects working on the official plans
• Block 2: Taxes [Personal Finance]
  • Bring your W2 tax form from 2021 and your Social Security Number
  • Talk about the background and history of the US tax system, purpose of taxes
  • File taxes for free through eFile
• Next week: iFly field trip!
