  • Three weeks until winter break

General announcements
  • We have some new students today - make them feel welcome!
  • Laptops have been treated pretty badly. The staff is stumped on how to address this situation; if you have ideas, please talk to Mike.
  • Similarly… the kitchen is also a disaster. 
  • Phone usage: learn to manage, understand how to use it appropriately
    • When you’re in a meeting or doing an all-class activity in a module, put your phone away
    • If you’re having a conversation with a teacher, put your phone away
    • When a teacher is approaching, please take out your earbuds before they start talking
    • Bottom line: be aware of the situation and respond respectfully (true outside of school, too)
  • Erin - dance teacher
    • classes will start up after Thanksgiving, maybe a module at the Community Center
  • The Optimist Club
    • Herb and George - liaisons for the Jr. Optimist Club
    • Organization is focused on doing volunteer work in the community
    • Get involved! It’ll make you a better person and will help out with college or work prep.

  • Thursday will be our Thanksgiving dinner/lunch (lunner?)

    • During elective, we’ll do Mindfulness and then a mock vote for president and some of the ballot measures on the table this year
    • Come to our Election Night Extravaganza tonight!

  • Contract #6 starts today (54 pts minimum)
  • Advisory meeting to discuss Optimist Club, Inspire Grant, decision making for the school
    • If you met with Windy a couple weeks ago, keep your ears open 
    • Tentative meeting Wednesday afternoon at 1:00
  • Students may not smoke on this campus!
    • That includes the road in front of school (even though it’s technically on campus)
    • We recognize some students have a nicotine addiction, but we don’t encourage it and don’t want to be associated with it
    • If students are found with nicotine on campus, it will be confiscated; nicotine products (including vape pens) are prohibited on campus
    • Want to quit? Great! Join the NOT group this Thursday during Elective
  • We are still having issues with laptops not being signed out
  • Kitchen sink is full of dishes - if it’s not cleaned this morning, the kitchen will be closed again this week

    What are MMMM?

    At the start of each week, the whole school gets together for a Monday Morning Meeting. Here, staff give general announcements, and teachers present their modules for the week. After the meeting, students create contracts, signing up for the modules they will take and other activities they will participate in.
