MMM 1 March

Conferences are coming up! Advisors are reaching out to parents to schedule conferences, but parents - feel free to also reach out to Karen to set up a time. Conferences will be in-person this time around, spread out over two weeks so that we can maintain distance in the school. Students, use this week to make sure your credit trackers are up to date (work with your advisor and teachers as needed to get points updated) and that you have clarified your goals for the rest of the semester.

  • Explore what happened with Gamestop - why it happened, what “shorting” means, how it impacted the market
  • Build a mock portfolio looking at stocks over time - distinguish between investing and trading

English

  • Continue the research and drafting process

  • What role does mythology play in our lives today? Are there universal truths? Explore these questions while learning about Homer’s The Odyssey… and find out your Greek god personality type!

Social Studies

• Block 1: Orienteering
  • Make maps, learn how to use a compass, orient based on the landscape
  • Outside each day (wear a jacket)
  • Field trip to do orienteering in the woods
  • DOK: create a geocache and hide it in town, create a map for others to find it
