General announcements
  • Moments of gratitude
    • Nancy is grateful Harmony, Jordyn, Grace, Kayla for a beautiful moment last week

  • Other announcements
    • There is a work session at the school board meeting tonight if you want to give input on future location and programming for CCHS. Join us at the Admin Building (behind the heritage museum on Main Street) at 6:00 p.m. to listen in on the conversation and share your thoughts or questions
    • Natalie will be leaving CCHS at the end of the month to continue her counseling career with Solvista. If you have questions or need to process this transition, you can talk with Natalie or any of the staff this month
    • Upcoming trips - student leaders needed! Counts toward Advisory
      • Fountain Valley
      • Government trip
    • Covid protocols: please mask up if you are sitting within 3 feet for more than 15 minutes. This will mean most classes… we know masks are unpleasant, but so is working from home! We want to stay in the building as much as possible
    • A new round of clubs will start on Wednesday. Input on ideas? 
      • Ideas shared so far are primarily for Elective credit - no core credits or PE options suggested yet

    • Compare MLK and Malcom X - their lives, their roles in the Civil Rights Movement, their legacies
  • Block 2: Discovery and Econ R&W - Rich Dad, Poor Dad
    • R&W can count either toward SS or R&W for SS (English)
    • Only for students who don’t need math or Health
Science
  • Block 1: Human Body Systems
    • Are you breathing? Pooping? Moving? 
    • DOK: pick the system you feel is most important, advocate for why
  • Block 2: Upstairs and Downstairs Health
    • Mental and sexual health
    • Two guest speakers coming to answer questions: Jane Cole (registered nurse) and Heather McFadden (school psychologist)
    • DOK: friend needs help - what resources would you offer? What misconceptions could you clarify for them?

    What are MMMM?

    At the start of each week, the whole school gets together for a Monday Morning Meeting. Here, staff give general announcements, and teachers present their modules for the week. After the meeting, students create contracts, signing up for the modules they will take and other activities they will participate in.
