General announcements
  • Welcome back!
  • We had two students graduate right before break! Congrats to Sydney and Austin.
    • They’ll walk at graduation in May
  • A CCHS alum (who graduated last year) is headed to UC Boulder this semester
  • Mike got three things for Christmas: a circular saw, a chainsaw, and a buck knife
  • Students earned 42 credits last December - record-setting!
  • next Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. - first ever CCHS advisory committee meeting
    • members of the community will come to talk about what we are, what we do, who we do it for, etc.
    • if you know anyone interested in joining the committee, please let Mike know
  • before break, staff talked about elective hour; is it working?
    • we’d like to keep it, but some students are taking advantage of it - please participate, or it’ll go away
  • advisory is mandatory, even for seniors; please check in with your advisor every day
  • we will be running service learning and senior seminar as modules to be more supportive of students
  • NWEA testing window starts next week - afternoons
  • Incidentally, Colorado is dropping the ACT in favor of the SAT for next year… so yay about that…
  • This is contract #8, second quarter, 60 points minimum

Juli Info
  • Juli LOVES New Years! Time for reflection and looking ahead. What are you passionate about? What do you want to change this year? What went well last year? It’s a fresh start!
  • Discovery will start with New Dogs January 19 (in two weeks)
    • overnight will be end of February
  • EQs - Juli would like to check in with students more regularly
  • CMC: six students have signed up for classes this semester!
    • Accuplacer test is tomorrow for those who haven’t taken it yet (Erin, Khylie, Eli, Seth, Brandi, Tyler, Dillon)

    What are MMMM?

    At the start of each week, the whole school gets together for a Monday Morning Meeting. Here, staff give general announcements, and teachers present their modules for the week. After the meeting, students create contracts, signing up for the modules they will take and other activities they will participate in.
