General announcements

Welcome back!
We had two students graduate right before break! Congrats to Sydney and Austin.
- They’ll walk at graduation in May
A CCHS alum (who graduated last year) is headed to UC Boulder this semester
Mike got three things for Christmas: a circular saw, a chainsaw, and a buck knife
Students earned 42 credits last December - record-setting!
next Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. - first ever CCHS advisory committee meeting
- members of the community will come to talk about what we are, what we do, who we do it for, etc.
- if you know anyone interested in joining the committee, please let Mike know
before break, staff talked about elective hour; is it working?
- we’d like to keep it, but some students are taking advantage of it - please participate, or it’ll go away
advisory is mandatory, even for seniors; please check in with your advisor every day
we will be running service learning and senior seminar as modules to be more supportive of students
NWEA testing window starts next week - afternoons
Incidentally, Colorado is dropping the ACT in favor of the SAT for next year… so yay about that…
This is contract #8, second quarter, 60 points minimum

- Rachel is contemplating Project Based Learning (PBL), where students come up with a question and work through finding an answer. Student-centered, experiential. Rachel will try it out at the end of the month; if you’re interested, start thinking through possible questions.

Juli LOVES New Years! Time for reflection and looking ahead. What are you passionate about? What do you want to change this year? What went well last year? It’s a fresh start!
Discovery will start with New Dogs January 19 (in two weeks)
- overnight will be end of February
EQs - Juli would like to check in with students more regularly
CMC: six students have signed up for classes this semester!
- Accuplacer test is tomorrow for those who haven’t taken it yet (Erin, Khylie, Eli, Seth, Brandi, Tyler, Dillon)
